GCC - 651 Advanced Neuropharmacology/Neurophysiolo

The intent of this course is to teach the student how to think about brain function. The class will utilize the small group/interactive discussion format of selected topics involving nervous system disorder/functions. Students will receive class notes from the Pharm/Physio class and will be expected to review the drugs and drug interactions prior to each class. During the class, the focus will be an in-depth discussion of the pathophysiology of an assigned CNS-disease, -condition, and -function. The relevant anatomy and physiology of the brain areas involved will be discussed by the group with the intent to demonstrate how the pathophysiology emerges and how it is treated.
