NTR - 613 Advanced Nutrition Care III

This course will review evidence-based practice and current nutrition theory for critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). Participants will discussion alterations in energy metabolism, regulation of macronutrients during critical illness, electrolyte management, acid-base balance, influence of underlying chronic disease on the acute phase response, and examine evidenced-based nutrition-related recommendations for the use of enteral and parenteral nutrition in ICU-related illnesses.
