CLM - 510 Management Practicum


The management practicum is designed to provide exposure to the skills necessary to perform successfully in a laboratory management role. Current practice requires laboratory managers to take decisive actions in areas of operational, fiscal and human resource management. This practicum will provide students with training in the various practices of laboratory management, including planning, organizing, controlling, staffing and evaluation. Special emphasis will be placed upon laboratory operations, personnel administration, regulations and operating budgets. The practicum prepares the graduate student to assume the duties of a laboratory manager. This course is essential for all management professionals who pursue a career in health care management.
