HSC - 472 Corporate Health Programs


Successful wellness programs currently used by industry will be reviewed as case studies to provide the groundwork for the importance of workplace involvement in health. The student will gain an understanding of the relationship between employee health to healthcare costs and productivity in relation to return on investment (ROI) and investment in human capital. They will also discuss strategic and product management planning in relationship to disease management versus population wellness theory. The student will learn to assess employer and employee needs, organizational culture, and environmental policy to aligning needs with best practices and program design, implementation, and evaluation to achieve desired outcomes. Prerequisite: Departmental permission. Credit Hours: (4)
