NTR - 624 Geriatric Nutrition

This advanced course will explore the changes in nutritional needs associated with normal aging as well as needs during a variety of disease states. Independence/successful aging, disease prevention and neurological problems will be emphasized. End of life issues will be addressed. Social support networks and resources and will be studied. Practical applications of knowledge learned will be addressed. Evidence based research to support these issues will be studied. Prerequisite courses: None or permission of instructor.
