MLS - 586P Patient Care Techniques

Pre-analytical situations and best practices in specimen collection techniques are reinforced through extensive discussion and practice in this course. Students will perform venipuncture procedures on patients throughout both inpatient and outpatient settings. Pediatric and geriatric patients are included, as are general adult populations. Evaluation of pre-analytical situations involving documentation, transportation requirements, and infection control are also covered in this course.
