MLS - 535 Clinical Microbiology II


In this course, students will learn about the acquisition, disease and identification of fungi (yeasts and molds), eukaryotic parasites and obligate intracellular organisms, including viruses and bacteria. Emphasis is on the diagnostic procedures used in the clinical laboratory to isolate and identify these organisms. Digital microscopy will be used to supplement lecture such that students will learn the morphology of fungi and parasites in particular. Offered: summer.
