OBG - 710 Subinternship: Gynecologic Oncology


This four-week OB-GYN Subinternship in Gynecologic Oncology is designed for fourth year medical students. Students will follow GYN-ONC patients on the floor, including postoperative patients and patients admitted for chemotherapy or complications of their malignancy and treatment. Students will be responsible for overseeing the care of several patients, rounding with the team, writing notes, calling consults, participating in hand offs, working with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and discharge planning, likely some OR experience as well. The course will follow Rush University Medical Center’s requirements/objectives/assignments standard to Rush Medical College Subinternships. Permission to enroll is granted by the course director. Prerequisite: OBG-703. Offered: fall, spring and summer. Retake Counts for Credit: Yes. Credit(s): 4
