IS - 311 Patient Assessment


Fundamentals of assessment will be covered to include the assessment of health status emphasizing cultural, ethnic, and age differences. This course focuses on the current healthcare delivery imaging environment including patient assessment, monitoring, and management. It includes working with multicultural patients, managing problem patients, infection control, and patient education. Focuses on taking patient histories, and physical examinations. Body systems and functional health patterns are used to organize data and to develop clinical pathways in medical imaging. Additional topics include an overview of considerations when working in an increasingly digital imaging environment Prerequisite: Admission to the Department. Credit Hours: (5)
