IS - 336 Introduction to MRI

This didactic course is designed as an entry level course in Magnetic Resonace Imaging (MRI). It will provide the student with an introduction to the filed of MRI. Topics will include an overview of MRI history and development, fundamental principles of magnetism, MRI safety, equipment, terminology, signal production, image formation, image acquisition & image prodection. In addition, image weighting and tissue characterisitcs, and basic parameters will be presented. Prerequisite: Admission to the Department. Credit Hours: (3)
