NSG - 503 Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing


This course examines the etiology, manifestations, and clinical management of selected mental illnesses across the life span and continuum of care. Students will analyze systems and the evidence base for psychiatric nursing and apply this knowledge in promoting mental health and the optimal functioning and rehabilitation of individuals, families, and communities with mental health problems. Prerequisite: Nursing Management of Common Health Alterations Across the Lifespan; Corequisite: Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing Practicum Credit Hours: (3)
