NSG - 533 Advanced Pathophysiology


This course incorporates scientific concepts, principles, and theories into discussion of advanced pathophysiologic processes across the lifespan. Pathophysiology is a combined science that encompasses definition/classification, epidemiology, risk factors, etiology, pathogenesis, and clinical manifestations. The initial sections of the course cover basic mechanisms of disease which are then integrated into subsequent discussions of selected system-related disorders. Learning activities and evaluation strategies are focused on the development and assessment of critical thinking and problem-solving in clinical scenarios to facilitate real-world practice applications and prepare students for certification exams.
