MED - 799 Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics

This course is based at Lifetime Medical Associates, the continuity practice of the Rush Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program. This integrated resident-faculty outpatient practice focuses on family-oriented primary care. Students spend the day working with common outpatient problems in patients of all ages. In addition, students gain experience in office management, insurance issues, quality improvement, urgent care, and other areas important to general practice. Because this course is essentially an outpatient subinternship, we request that students advise us as soon as possible of a need to change dates or cancel enrollment. NOTE: Visiting students may only enroll in four-week rotations with the approval of the course director; they are not eligible for two-week rotations. Elective Retake Counts for Credit: Yes.
