AUD - 670 Seminar in Hearing Conservation This course includes an introduction to the effects of noise on hearing, sound measurement, noise descriptors, testing and follow-up. Prevention, hearing conservation procedures and protective devices are presented. Federal, state, and local regulations; workmen’s compensation; and litigation are discussed. This course incorporates practical clinical laboratory components that enable students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to reduce or prevent hearing impairment and conserve the hearing ability of their patients throughout the lifespan.
