NSG - 569 Maternal Child Mgt for FNP


This course addresses the diagnosis and management of 1) common acute and chronic health care problems in children from infancy through adolescence and 2) pregnancy and fertility issues for women of child-bearing age. Prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and counseling of these patients and their families form the framework for students to refine evidence-based clinical decision-making and reasoning skills. Quality, cost-effectiveness and safety are integrated in the development of patient-centered management plans. Prerequisite: Advanced Health Assessment - APRN Across the Life Span, Diagnostics for the Advanced Practice Nurse, and Pharmatherapeutics in Primary Care; Corequisite: Practicum Retake Counts for Credit: No. Pass/No Pass Grading Allowed: No. Credit(s): 3
