GCC - 693 Advanced Integrated Bioscience Topics This is a session of seminars given by the students to other students and faculty in the University. Additionally, this course monitors students’ attendance of other weekly seminars to obtain credit for attending and evaluating these seminars. Students enrolled in the third year of the IBS PhD program are required to attend to share and learn the methods of graduate research being undertaken at Rush. The seminars are to focus on the background into the research undertaken by each student and it should be delivered in a manner that students and faculty not familiar in the subject matter can follow and understand. Observing students are expected to participate by asking questions in the sessions. Students are required to attend one additional seminar each week outside of the scheduled time. Each week, students will submit a report page to the course director of a seminar they have attended summarizing the topic background, the data presented, the conclusions drawn by the presenter and a brief critical analysis of the work. These reports are both to demonstrate attendance of an additional seminar and to display understanding of the seminar topic presented. Retake Counts for Credit: Yes.
