PMR - 792 Physical Med & Rehab Virtual Away Elect

This two-four week online PM&R course is designed to allow non-Rush fourth year students interested in auditioning in PM&R at Rush explore the field in addition to interacting with faculty & residents. The course is centered around one-week learning modules on a single diagnosis (e.g., stroke) where the students are given a clinical case they will use as a backdrop for their learning. Each day, the students will be required to submit one-two paragraph responses to questions, complete a group discussion (students only), group discussion with a resident, and receive a didactic lecture from an attending physician. In addition, the course will incorporate concepts of disability, have mock oral boards cases, and have a virtual get-together with residents from the program. At the end of the course, the students have to present a 20-minute presentation on a topic of their choice. They will be evaluated based upon the quality of their presentation, daily submissions and quality of interaction/participation in group discussions.
