NSG - 505 Public Health Nursing

This course uses an ecological model to assess the nursing care needs of individuals, families and groups in the community. Evidence based strategies to promote health and reduce risk for individuals, families and groups are analyzed within the context of the communities in which they live. The impact of public health laws and regulations on public safety and access to care are examined. Prerequisite: NSG 522  and NSG 524 ; Corequisite: NSG 504  and NSG 508P  Credit Hours: (3)
