RCP - 529 Mechanical Ventilation

Provides instruction in the theory, set-up, operation and maintenance of mechanical ventilators and related equipment. Topics include: mechanical ventilator theory, ventilator operation, ventilator maintenance and trouble shooting. Maintenance of artificial airways, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, chest tube maintenance, and arterial blood gas sampling will also be discussed related to the critical care patient. Prerequisites: RCP 511 , RCP 512 , RCP 513 . Credit Hours: (4)
